The Vision

Introduction: Every extraordinary vision begins with a spark—a fleeting idea that has the power to change lives, businesses, and even entire communities. But ideas alone are not enough. They require courage, intention, and resources to become reality. In this lesson, we will explore three foundational pillars of turning a vision into a powerful force: Ideas, Objects, and Necessity.

A mission statement  is a picture of the what and how a company operates.

A Vision is the why a company operates the way it does.

As you go through this lesson, remember that your vision is not just a task on a to-do list. It’s a calling. It’s an opportunity to step into your fullest potential and serve others with authenticity and purpose.

Part 1: Ideas – Exploring Your Vision Possibilities

  • What are three vision ideas you have?

    • Take a moment to dream without limits. Think about what sets your soul on fire. Imagine three distinct visions: one small but impactful, one moderately ambitious, and one grand, bold, and game-changing.

    • Don’t censor yourself—let your imagination run freely.

    • Exercise: Write down your three vision ideas.

    • Describe the potential outcomes, who they would serve, and how they could change the world around you.

  • Choose a High-Impact Idea:

    • Now, look at your three ideas and ask yourself: Which one feels like it carries a heartbeat? Which one scares you a little but excites you a lot?

    • Your high-impact idea is the one that feels impossible but also deeply necessary.

    • Exercise: Write a heartfelt explanation of why you are drawn to this idea. What emotions does it stir in you?

  • Reflect on Your Why:

    • Why does this vision matter to you?

    • How does it align with your purpose and values?

    • Exercise: Write a letter to yourself explaining why this vision deserves your dedication. Include these questions and also your belief in your vision you created.

Key Takeaway: Powerful visions are born from bold ideas that speak to you.

This is now your vision that you can be empowered by. .

Part 2: Objects – Identifying Key Resources

  • What objects or resources are linked to your vision ideas?

    • Resources aren’t just physical tools; they can also be spaces, digital tools, knowledge, or emotional resources.

    • Reflect on what you already have within your reach and what you might need to acquire.

    • Exercise: For each vision idea, list the resources you believe are essential for success. Be specific.

  • Aligning Resources with Your Chosen Vision:

    • Now focus on your high-impact idea. Which resources are non-negotiable for its success?

    • Sometimes, the most valuable resource is time. Sometimes, it’s the courage to ask for help.

    • Exercise: Create a resource inventory. Highlight the ones you already have and make a plan for acquiring the ones you don’t.

  • Mindset as a Resource:

    • Your mindset is one of the most powerful resources you possess.

    • Are you approaching your vision with confidence, resilience, and an open heart?

    • Exercise: Write down three mindset shifts you need to embrace to bring your vision to life.

Key Takeaway: Resources are the bridge between dreams and reality. Identify them, honor them, and use them with intention.

Part 3: Necessity – Who and What Do You Need?

  • Who do you need to carry out your vision?

    • No vision is built in isolation. Behind every great achievement is a team, a support system, and sometimes even a single encouraging voice.

    • Identify mentors, collaborators, team members, or partners who can walk alongside you.

    • Exercise: Make a list of people who can support your vision. Include their names, their roles, and how they can help.

  • What do you need to carry out your vision?

    • Necessity goes beyond people and physical resources. What knowledge, skills, or emotional resilience do you need?

    • Be honest about your strengths and your gaps.

    • Exercise: Write down three critical necessities (people, skills, tools, or mindsets) you need to focus on.

  • Commit to Asking for Help:

    • Sometimes, the hardest step is asking for support. But asking is not a sign of weakness—it’s a sign of clarity and courage.

    • Exercise: Write one email, message, or note to someone you want to invite into your vision journey.

Key Takeaway: Visions thrive when we surround ourselves with the right people and stay committed to learning, growing, and asking for help.

Part 4: Integration – Crafting Your Vision Plan

  • Take everything you’ve uncovered in this lesson: your bold idea, your essential resources, and your key people.

  • Now bring them together into a cohesive plan.

  • Exercise: Write a one-page vision action plan. Include your vision statement, key resources, people involved, and the first three steps you’ll take.

  • Create Accountability:

    • Share your vision plan with one person you trust.

    • Set a timeline for your first milestone.

    • Exercise: Write down one bold action step you will take within the next 48 hours.

Key Tip: Bold visions require bold action. Don’t wait for everything to be perfect—start now.

Conclusion: Your vision is not just an idea; it’s a promise to yourself and the world. Today, you’ve taken a powerful step in shaping that promise into reality. Reflect, refine, and most importantly—act.

Reflection Questions:

  1. Which of your three ideas felt the most alive to you and why?

  2. What resource do you already have that you can use today?

  3. Who will you reach out to for support this week?
